Library Collection Development Policy

The library collection development is a collective effort of the librarian, staff and students of the college.

The staff and students can give their request for books, journals etc. of their choice either through the Heads of the department, or directly to the Librarian.

The students can also give in their suggestions through the student representatives of the Institutional Library Committee.

The collection development process is as follows:

The continuous effort of the libraries to increase the information sources, the collection of the libraries now stands at 65000 books, 2000 journals in print, 08 databases that covers around 1580 full text journals and 1000 e-books.

The collection also comprises of theses, posters and back volumes of journals since 1985.

Apart from the resources that support the academic programmes, the libraries have a collection that enrich the knowledge of the reader.

Rare books & manuscripts

The rare books are preserved and maintained in a separate section in all the libraries.

he rare books are classified based on the early printing date, its historical importance, limited availability or special character or binding of that edition.

The libraries have a collection of more than 500 rare books.
